cottages4you, the UK's largest holiday letting agency, has a great selection of self catering farm properties within its portfolio. As a result, it is launching a national competition to find the best holiday properties on farms and will reward the farmers who have made the biggest success out of holiday letting.
There are five entry categories of: best farm let conversion, most eco-friendly farm let, quirkiest farm let, best farm let location and best farm let experience (i.e. with a great choice of activities).
Nominations from farmers, their family, friends or holidaymakers should be submitted via the form below and will be judged by a panel, including representatives from cottages4you and the NFU. The winning farmer in each of the five prize categories will receive a Virgin Experience Days Gift Card worth £175 to spend on hundreds of exciting experiences - from Ferrari driving to relaxing spa days - and a winner's plaque to display in their holiday accommodation. The overall winner will also get to enjoy a magical Virgin Balloon Flight from one of over 100 locations across mainland Britain.

- The cottages4you Best Holiday Farm Properties 2011 Competition is open to all independent farmers in the UK with self catering holiday accommodation except for employees of the promoter and/or their immediate family and anyone else connected to the creation or administration of the Competition.
- The Competition runs from 01/03/2011 until midnight 29/07/2011.
- No purchase necessary.
- There will be one Winner in each of the following five categories (five Winners in all): best farm let conversion, most eco-friendly farm let, quirkiest farm let, best farm let location and best farm let experience.
- Entry to the Competition is by Nomination. Nominations are invited from the general public, farmers, their families and friends. The criteria for Nominations is as follows; Nominators must fully complete all required fields on the best farm let holiday property form on www.rentmycottage.com. All Nominations and details of Nominated Shortlist Finalists, and Winners, will be posted on the Promoter's website and may form part of additional marketing and advertising in all media formats.
- Only one completed entry form per person.
- The closing date for nominations is midnight 29/07/2011.
- A shortlist of Nominated Finalists will be compiled by the Promoter by Friday 2nd September 2011 who in the opinion of the Judges best fits the five winning categories taking into consideration customer service and entrepreneurship as well as the standard of the accommodation/experience offered .
- The owner(s) of a shortlisted holiday property must agree to be included in the Shortlist of Nominated Finalists. If an owner of a shortlisted business does not wish to enter the Competition, or be bound by these terms and conditions, they will not be included in the Shortlist.
- Nominated Shortlist Finalists will be notified on or after Monday 6th June 2011.
- The five Winners will be selected from the Shortlist. The Judges will select, in their opinion, the best entry in the relevant category by 30th August 2011.
- The Winners will be selected by a panel of Judges, which will include a representative from both cottages4you and the NFU. Winners will be notified by email/post within seven days of the Judging Date.
- The Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The Winners will be identified as best holiday farm property in their winning category and will be awarded one of the five Virgin Experience Days Gift Card worth £175 Plus each Winner will receive a cottages4you plaque confirming their winning category, which they may display in their holiday property.
- The Prizes are not transferable and there is no cash alternative.
- An overall winner from the five categories will be selected by the Judging Panel and will be notified within seven days of the Judging Date. The overall winner will receive a pair of Virgin Balloon Flights 7 Day Anytime Vouchers which are valid for 12 months and entitle them and a guest to a balloon flight from one of 100 locations in England, Scotland and Wales, a Champagne toast after landing, a certificate endorsed by Sir Richard Branson and transport back to the launch site. Flying season is March to October but can vary in some areas. Flight dates are made available six to eight weeks in advance and are subject to availability. Passengers must be over 7 years of age and at least 4'6" in height. Children aged under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. - The Shortlisted Finalists and Winners will be required to participate in publicity involving print and broadcast media.
- Winners' names and towns will be available 28 days after the Competition closing date. Send a SAE to cottages4you Best Holiday Farm Properties Competition, Marketing Department, Holiday Cottages Group, Spring Mill, Earby, Barnoldswick, BB94 0AA and mark "Competition Winners".
- No responsibility is accepted for submissions that fail to be delivered. Proof of submission is not proof of entry. Late entries, entries missing required information, or entries which do not comply with these rules will be disqualified from the Competition. The Promoter does not accept responsibility for network, computer hardware or software failures of any kind, which may restrict or delay entry to the Competition.
